New Access to Roque Nublo: Everything You Need to Know for Your Next Adventure in Gran Canaria
If you're planning a getaway to Gran Canaria and wish to visit Roque Nublo, we're here to guide you through the new access procedures for this iconic monument.
Visiting Roque Nublo is a must. This impressive volcanic monolith, a symbol of the island, stands at 1,813 meters above sea level and offers one of the best panoramic views of the archipelago. As of early 2025, a new access system has been implemented to enhance visitor experience and preserve the natural environment.
Mandatory Reservation: To ensure better management of visitor flow and environmental conservation, it's now mandatory to make a free reservation to access Roque Nublo during peak hours.
Reservation Website: Tickets
Access Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Reservation Limit: 60 people per hour
Reservation Confirmation: Upon booking, you'll receive a QR code via email, which you'll need to present at the entrance.
Note: If you don't show up on your reserved day, you may face a one-month penalty. Access without a reservation is possible outside the 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM window, but entry will depend on availability.
Where to Park?
Private vehicles can no longer reach the trailhead directly. Instead, you should park at the designated areas:
Llanos de la Pez Parking (Tejeda)
Cruz de los Llanos Parking
These areas are well-signposted and spacious. We recommend arriving early, especially on weekends or public holidays.
Shuttle Service to the Trail
From the parking areas, a shuttle bus will take you to the authorized access point for the Roque Nublo trail. This initiative helps reduce congestion and protects the natural landscape.
Frequency: Every 15–20 minutes
Cost: 1,40€ per person, payable by card
Operating Days: Weekends, public holidays, and daily during high season
Pickup and Return Point: Same parking areas
Schedules: Shuttle Timetable
Tips for a Great Experience
Wear comfortable footwear suitable for rocky and slippery terrain.
Bring enough water and sun protection (hat, sunscreen).
Check the weather forecast before your visit; fog is common.
Pets are allowed.
The trail is manageable for children but requires caution due to uneven paths.
