The island of Fuerteventura will never cease to amaze you. Kilometric beaches with white and golden sand, crystal clear waters and 1,660km² will make you think that you are in paradise. Unique landscapes, virgin beaches ... and we are going to help you find the 10 best beaches on the entire island.



1) Cofete Beach: To the south of the island, reaching the tip of Jandia is one of the most beautiful beaches to watch the sunset. Getting to the beach is a bit complicated because of its road, which is unpaved, and not all cars can handle it. Since August 1, 2014, the Cabildo de Fuerteventura has provided a transfer service with a 4x4 vehicle from Morro Jable to Cofete and Puertito de la Cruz.




2) Playa de Jandia. From the MUR Hotel Faro Jandia & Spa you can see and admire the beauty of this beach. It is easily accessible, 4km long, golden sand and the sun always shines. The beach ends in the town of Morro Jable, the perfect place to have lunch with fresh local fish.



3) Grandes Playas de Corralejo. From the south of the island we move to the other end, in the municipality of La Oliva, in the town of Corralejo we will find the famous beach for all lovers of water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing ... "Great Beaches of Corralejo". It is one of the most popular beaches for tourists and athletes and is 3,5 kilometers long. Right in front you can enjoy a wonderful view of the islet of Lobos.




4) Playa de Concha. In the town of Cotillo in the municipality of La Oliva, to the north of the island, we find the concha beach, in an isolated area it is a completely virgin beach. It lacks services and is very easy to access by car.




5) Playa de Butihondo – Esquinzo. In the municipality of Pájara you will find 1,500m of white sand at the mouth of the Butihondo ravine and the Esquinzo ravine. It is easily accessible and frequented by visitors. It is a beach with little wind and is perfectly equipped with basic services such as showers and hammock rental. It has a nearby parking lot and the Morro Jable bus line reaches this area.




6) Gran Tarajal – Tuineje. Not all beaches are going to be white or golden sand. In the municipality of de Tuineje is the Gran Tarajal beach with black sand. On the southeast coast of the island you will find the contrast of color, it is an urban beach and is frequented by the residents of the area. It is easily accessible and there are many restaurants and bars in the midlands.




7) Sotavento – Sotavento. It is a huge beach and one of the most popular on the island of Fuerteventura. It is 1,100m away and is hardly frequented and is located south of Costa Calma. If your mission on the island is to go windsurfing or kitesurfing, this beach is perfect for those sports. There are hardly any hotels around it and it can be reached by car but its road is unpaved.




8) Playa de Alzada – La Oliva. Its official name is Alzada but many know it as El Burro. It is located within the protected area of ​​the Dunes of Corralejo, we can see 840m of beach in a virgin environment with golden sand and easy access.




9) Playa Esmeralda. In the municipality of Pájara and between the beaches of Costa Calma and Sotavento we have 410m Playa Esmeralda. It is a perfect beach if you are looking for tranquility, it is not very frequented and it is well sheltered from the wind. Access can be done by car, a dirt road and parking very close to the coast. If you wish, you can rent a hammock or have a fresh beer at the beach bar.




10) Caleta del Marrajo – El Cotillo. In the municipality of La Oliva, in the north of the island, there is the spectacular white sand cove with absolute tranquility. It is a cove that not even in summer is crowded. It is located in a virgin environment, 220m long and with a swell and light wind.
